The Castle of Bouillon

The oldest and most interesting vestige of feudalism in Belgium. The origins of the first fortifications date back to the 8th century. Their existence became a certainty in 988. He was immortalized by Godefroid, leader of the first crusade (1096) and lawyer of the Holy Sepulcher.

The castle was occupied militarily until 1830.


Didactic exhibition on raptors all year round and shows from March 1 to November 11 inclusive.


The exhibition "Scriptura, from the pen to the PC" (included in the visit) testifies to the evolution of learning to write from the Middle Ages to the present day. The following evokes the influence of the printing press, especially in Bouillon in the 18th century. A class reconstruction at the beginning of the XXth century precedes the computer age.
